Shallowater is a separate city northwest of Lubbock on US 84, with its own permits and inspections. City Hall's building page says projects over 200 square feet need a permit and inspection, flatwork and slabs are in the inspection sequence, and inspections are requested through City Hall at (806) 696-4300 (the city contracts with Area Wide Inspections). Don't order concrete until the inspection passes. Rules change, so confirm with City Hall before you pour.
